Description
Ribbons of stainless steel spiral upward from a darkened patina base, shifting from deep charcoal to warm, brushed bronze tones as they rise and catch the light. Along the way, a flight of butterflies settles on the curves, their wings ground by hand and finished in translucent acrylic color that moves from golden chartreuse through amber to rich crimson. Because the color sits over textured metal, the wings shimmer and change as you move around the piece, giving it a sense of motion from every angle. At 18″ tall x 8″ wide x 8″ deep, this tabletop sculpture is scaled for a console, mantel, shelf or desk, and each one is signed by Nicholas Yust on the base.
